I was half way through my Otherworldly article when Steven spots my previous work.
“I thought you were also a big fan of Karl Urban?” He quizzed: “ You were grumpy for days when I accidentally threw away a newspaper interview about him last year.”
Oh, Chirst! I completely forgot about Karl.
For those who’s been to the movies only a few times and only notice the main characters, you might raise your eyebrows and asked: “Karl who?”
Remember Eomer (the one on the right) in “The Lord of the Rings trilogy”?
And Russian assassin Kirill (who died in the most horrible car crash) in “The Bourne Supremacy”?
And that dodgy commander Vaako, who seemed to have some kind of agenda in “The Chronicles of Riddick”?
And this dude in “Pathfinder”?
Still reckon you don’t know him?
He was another actor other then the fabulous Orando Bloom (who didn’t notice the handsome Legolas the elf in the trilogy?) I notice in the LOTR. His low thick voice (perhaps I am very much mistaken, he had a very slight trace of German accent in there) immediately drew me towards this dark-eye Wellingtonian. I am so proud another New Zealand greatest treasure was discovered. After I learned the reason he only got some minor part here and there is because he refused to transfer his base to Hollywood and decided to stay in New Zealand instead so he can spend more time with his wife and children, my heart swollen with absolute admiration. What a family man! What a rare breed!
A dedicated man like this deserve the total good karma reward. Hence we heard they were considered him as the next James Bond at one stage. Hence we learned he is going to be the new Leonard McCoy in the new version of “Star Trek”
