Picture: Happy pre-sleep brushing teeth time!!!

Unavoidable, Horatio is going to have a  'grommet' (tympanostomy tube) inserted into his ears.

For those who doesn't have a children at home, you might have no idea what this means. Go search the wikipedia and let me assure you, it's not going to be pleasant to experience it, particularly parents, as babies usually going under general anesthesia.

We've been really, really reluctant to do this and trying all we can to avoid it. But Horatio's ear infection (almost every time he had a cold will develop into this) is just so frequent, the GP had advice us there is no other way to do this.

The appointment for initial assessment is set, Steven is going to bring him to the hospital. Me, the chicken mammy, hiding at work, trying my best not to think about it in my head (i have another baby to worry about, no unpleasant thought please).

Apparently it's pretty common in Western Society (really?). Steven had his when he was 4, apparently after being ignored by my in-law for a while (they probably thought he will grow out of it). He swore the ear infection is 'DEAD PAINFUL', he still remembered the sharp pain in his ears.

How come it hardly ever happened to us in Taiwan (well, certainly not me or my brother)?

I really, really, really, really don't like this, but it's not really up to me.
