The End Of An Era
- Sep 21 Mon 2009 11:21
Sorry, Daddy.
The two of them left the door together to the nearby playground. It had been a ritual every weekend when we visiting my father-in-law. Daddy’s more fun; Horatio preferred his company to mine.
It was a bit surprising to see him burst through the door after about 40 minutes, without his father in tow. Something wasn’t right; he didn’t just run all the way home by himself, did he (it happened twice before, once he came home from my mum’s, once from our neighbour’s, both incidents were by himself and both the host had no idea he was gone and went into the state of panic)?

Glorious Spring
Went to Eastern Beach in Howick over the weekend.
Finally, the weather was warm enough. Horatio and his daddy took the shoes off to have a splash in the water. It was the first time after Horatio’s toenails grown back.

Doorknob Wars
The Price household’s sleeping quality had decreased greatly once again recently, not because of the children’s sickness, not because of our (Steven and I) sickness, not because of some dodgy habit of mine (stay up till wee hours in the morning).

Twilight, Déjà vu
Since Ambrosia, I began developing this habit of going to bed at wee hours in the morning. Not that I have the insomnia or something, it was just a gradual thing. Ambrosia’s sleeping routine was a lot different than Horatio’s. She usually had her midnight/three o’clock feed, and could sleep up to 8 o’clock the next day. I am that kind of person who gets very grumpy being wake up when not having sufficient sleep (which is all the time since God knows when). Might as well stay up and feed her.
I know, you don’t have to do that with a baba at her age anymore. But old habit die hard, children’s body choose to grow bones around midnight, I think I will stick with it for a while

The Sacrifice
Pic: My precious.
Maternity Leave had drawn towards the end. I followed the procedure, wrote a return to work notice to my employer and advice them the return date. While I was at it, I also requested again working as a part-time. New legislation in 2008 entitled mums like me to make such a request and my boss has to ‘think about it’. I had mentioned to them once prior to my Leave started. They did reluctantly agree to think about it while I was away.

Broken English
Broken English
People (usually those who just came from Taiwan/China/anywhere whose native language is not English) (or those whose profession is a English As Second Language teacher. Their patience is somehow more thicker than the rest of us) who don’t know me very well would usually comment on my English as such: “Hey, your English is good!”

Picture: At the doctor for one of his ear infection check up. He's been better and better behave at the public these days.
(This is purely complaining, so if you don't really feel like reading this, you can just look at the picture and skip the rest.)

Strawberry Alarmclock
