I only went away to fetch my camera, the hole on the botton grew bigger when I got back!
My dear friend Katzie requested this. This is a lot simpler version compare to most of the online recipe, but yumminess all the same.
A perfect way to get rid of extra dented or starting to turn black apples.
If you don’t like to do the mixing by hands (which I strongly recommend you to, I”ve tried it twice and realized that it taste a lot better if you hand mix them), a processor will be very handy.
Get some short sweet pastry and line them before you put the apples in, it will be a perfect cake.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6 apples (medium size)
½ cup water
1 tsp lemon juice
½ tsp grated lemon rind
1 tsp cinnamon
¾ cup plain flour
1 cup brown sugar
125g butter
- 1. Turn oven to 180 ˚C. Peel core and slice apples.
- 2. Spread in a large pie dish.
- 3. Sprinkle water, juice, rind, and cinnamon over evenly.
- 4. Put flour and brown sugar in mixing bowl.
- 5. Chop up the butter and add.
- 6. With clean fingers, rub it in until it all looks crumbly. (Or put everything in the processor until it looks crumbly)
- 7. Sprinkle it all over the top of those apples. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
- 8. Serve it hot with whipped cream or ice cream, and make keep an eye on them, they usually disappear mysteriously in a tick.
