Saw this one madamed’s and thought that’s a interesting topic to do (美女之一, 美女之二, 中場插播:痞子法的TYPE, 美女之三, 美女之四, 男人們〈之一〉, 男人們〈之二〉, 美女之五 ).

Don’t panic, this won’t be the last one. I still got more to come. It just that these people are considered so down to Earth like you and I to be put into any other category, but I still like them a great deal, not mentioning them here would be such a waste.

 Emily Blunt

Who can forget the nasty girl in the movie ‘The Devil Wears Prada.’?

First noticed her was the nude scene as Catherine Howard in the period drama Henry VIII (not the Tudors, please. They’ve made so many movies about our dear Henry VIII, Jonathan’s portraital is only the latest one) (As I mentioned previously, I preferred Henry VIII than the Tudors for the history accuracy’s sake). Her impression to me wasn’t exactly breathtaking, but a ‘have I seen you somewhere?’ kind of feeling. But as you seen her more and more like ‘The Devil Wears Prada.’

Or The Jane Austen Book Club (seems always picking these kind of role, does she?)

Her face started root into you. Humph…she’s not bad after all, is she?

 Dododo-dododo Do-de-do…Doctor Who’s here.

Now, this is someone appeal to my entire household. Even my baby girl Ambrosia would stare at the television when he’s on. The most well-known Doctor Who (for those who had never heard of Doctor Who, he’s not the first one who portrait the well known alien, after all, the show had been on since the 60’s. It’s currently one of the longest show in Guinness Book of Record)  in my generation.

I first seen him on one of the Harry Potter fansite, announcing who will be the character Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire., again his image wasn’t particularly impressive. All I thought was: ‘Oh, he can be in one of those boy band, from such a big eyes of his.’ Yes, very pretty, but thanks, not my type.

His appearance in total in that movie only last no more than 10 minutes. I couldn’t really tell what his performance was like. Plus most of his scene in the movie was so different from the book. I was too busy feeling disappointed than actually paying attention on anything else.

Later when I watch the BBC drama Casanova (not Heath Ledger one), his big eyes gave me ‘have I seen you somewhere?’ deja-vu. On

ly then I started interested in his performance.

It turned out he is one of I called ‘professionally trained’ British actors/actresses-graduated from drama school, doing a few years’ Shakespeare theatre before appear in any of the screen. He’s from Scotland, but you don’t normally hear his heavy accent as he normally put on a London accent. I was in awe when I first heard that on one of his BBC interviews.

Then he was in one of my favourite British drama of all time: Doctor Who. I wasn’t particularly convinced he should be the Time Lord. Well, he’s a bit too pretty for the likings. But…well, like Emily, he gradually grew in you. Like most of his fan, I began to think there was no one else could play the Doctor that well and was quite sad to see him leave and handover the role to another actor.

Rupert Penry-Jones

You will not believe how different he look when the camera start rolling.

Some actor looks gorgeous in period customs; dear Rupert is one of them.

First saw him with David in Casanova. He looked so sad most of the time in the movie (well, he didn’t get the girl he loved. David got her), but that doesn’t mean his performance wasn’t good, though. His acting was excellent.

Then I began to watch the British drama Spooks on and off. Much to my delight, Rupert joined the cast in Season 3 as Adam Carter.

The thing about Spooks that stands out from the rest was the main character could also died at anytime. So several seasons later, the poor Adam got blown up by a car bomb. Sad.

His character in Whitechapel was also very good.

But like I said, I like him best in period dramas, such as Jane Austen’s Persuasion.
